Once again, Nokia Beta Labs released a nice application, Audio Books. This application allows us to play audio book stored in AMR-WB, which is codec optimized for speech.

Where can we get audio books?

• Firstly, you can download some sample files from Nokia Beta Labs.
• You can convert your current audio books (if you have ones) from CD or other digital formats, such MP3 and WAV. Nokia has released a tool to convert audio books, called Nokia Audiobook Manager. You can download it from the same link below.
• There are many public domain audio books available at LibriVox.

Nokia Device Status is a self-diagnosis tool that allows you to collect detailed system information of your S60 device. You can view the information from your PC as well as your S60 device. There is a standalone Windows-based application for the PC.

Here is the list of some information you retrieve from the application: device model, software version, IMEI number, total and free memory, installed applications, MCC (Mobile Country Code), MNC (Mobile Network code), ….

Nokia Device Status is currently released as a beta version on Nokia Beta Labs. Kudos to Tommi Vilkamo, who has just been appointed as Head of Nokia Beta Labs; but has brought a lot of “positive changes”.

Nokia Beta Labs has just released a new application, called Conversation. It is an application that allows us to follow conversations, organized by individual contacts. It is similar to the way we use IM (Instant Messaging) application. You can click a contact and see history of conversations that you had with that person.

There’s nothing much I can say about this application unless that it is cool. IMHO, it should have been part of S60 Messaging application from the beginning.
