I thought it is even possible to create sub-folder inside a folder on S60 phones. Thanks to petrib who has sent me a link to Nokia discussion board how to make this possible. For mechanimal82, you’re genius!

What I can do here is just adding screenshots to the tutorial on Nokia Discussion. The steps are a little bit tricky. You may have to try several times before you can actually create a sub-folder.

  • Create a new folder by selecting Options | New folder from the main menu, for example “Test”

Create a new folder

  • Move this folder to the top-left position (position 1).

Move a new folder to position 1

  • Move the highlight to an application in position 5.

Highlight application in position 5

  • Press Options menu and move the highlight to “Move to folder” menu. Do not press OK yet. If you press OK, it won’t work.

Highlight Move to folder menu

  • Press Power key of your phone and select “Offline” menu. This will change your profile to Offline mode. Meanwhile, you should notice that the highlight has changed to position 1. It means your new folder is now selected.

Activating Offline mode

  • Select “Move to folder” menu and move your new folder to another folder.
  • Now you have a sub-folder inside another folder. As you can see below, I have created a new sub-folder, called Test, inside Applications folder.

I have written a posting about EQO almost 1 year ago, Cheap Voice Calling via VoIP. The first idea of EQO, I guess, is supporting VoIP on our mobile phones, including S60 phones.

EQO Mobile has created “wow” response from many advanced users. It was one of early products that supports VoIP on S60 phones. Although it works fine, there was a usability problem. It uses callback feature to make VoIP. It means when we make a phone call, we have to wait EQO server to establish connection between us and the person whom we want to talk to.

What I want to highlight on this posting is not about VoIP, but another feature that is instant messaging. EQO Mobile supports almost all of the popular instant messaging protocols, i.e.:

It means now you can take your online buddies always with you. Best of all, EQO Mobile is available for free. You may consider this product before buying any commercial products, such as IM+ or Agile Messenger.

This posting is the follow-up from my previous posting, How to Copy Images/Videos to your PC? Another method to manage your images/videos is by using Nokia Lifeblog. If you have already used other third party management software, such as Google’s Picasa or Adobe’s Photoshop Album, then you may check Nokia Image Store as well.

If you don’t have Nokia Lifeblog on your PC, you can download it from here. Once you have installed Lifeblog, you can run it from Start menu or from PC Suite.

Using Nokia Lifeblog is very straightforward. You can select what you want to do from File menu. There are several menus that you may use very often, i.e.:

  • Copy new items from phone
  • Copy to phone
  • Copy from phone and to phone (you can select this menu by pressing Ctrl+K as well).

Normally, what I have been doing so far is connecting my phone to the PC, run Lifeblog and then press Ctrl+K. It will synchronize images/videos from/to my phone.

I won’t discuss Lifeblog too much here. Just try and experience it yourself… :)
