CES 2007 is over… One of the announcements at CES was the beta version of Yahoo! Go 2.0. Actually the announcement was the decision to bundle Yahoo! Go with some new Motorola’s phones. However, S60 users can also download Yahoo! Go 2.0 already.
Click here to visit Yahoo! Go 2.0 home page
Unfortunately, I cannot find a direct link to download Yahoo! Go from PC. It means you have to visit http://get.go.yahoo.com on your web browser and then download it from the phone (the application’s size is ~500 KB). Yes, I know it means additional cost if you don’t have flat-rate data plan. Honestly, I don’t know why Yahoo! decided to distribute their application this way.
Yahoo! Go 2.0 is a Java-based application that integrates Yahoo! widgets. The current version of Yahoo! Go 2.0 includes 9 widgets, i.e.:

From my opinion, this new version is better than the old one that is web-based application. If you are a Yahoo! users, you have to try this application. You can access many Yahoo! services from your S60 phones…
Compatible devices: S60 2nd, 3rd Edition, Nokia Nseries, Eseries.

I wanted to let you guys know that you have the no follow code in your blog. why should I read, comment, contribute. I know you don’t like spam but it’s going to happen anyway. it just makes people that want to be apaert of your community not want to be. you should punsh the people that help write content for you. why should I take my time out for you. a blog is a place to exchange opions. it you just wanted to tell me news than make a news website not a blog. I couldn’t find a contact owner anywhere so I wrote it in this message! I wanted to help you out. if you don’t like it deleate it. I don’t care I’m not getting any credit anyway so their. I’m tell you because I think it would be for the best. I’ve found some pretty good blogs out their but it seems like a ghost town. their is a site out their that want to help blogs it’s called yesfollow.org
I don’t work for them nore do I have anything to do with them at all. I knew that you had the nofollow by simply checking the source code. it takes 2 seconds and I make it my point to only comment or contribute on blogs without the nofollow on them. think of it from the readers point of view. I’m taking your content but will give you nothing for it. search engines love content the most. your getting people to add content to your site. but now with out offering anything back in return. the nofollow doesn’t stop spam it just stop people. spam will happen anyway. I just wanted to help you out. its up to you.

@domain freek: Thanks for your suggestion. Actually you can find my contact on About page. Just click About at the top of this page. There you can find my email address.
Anyway, about “yesfollow” or “nofollow”, there have been a discussion whether bloggers should enable “yesfollow” or “nofollow”. For me, I actually just use the default value from WordPress, which is “nofollow”. I guess most of WordPress users don’t change this default value either.

hi, first thank you for that, but it is beat and not available now for nokia e61

I wanted to point out that for some odd reason, Yahoo! Go 2.0 does NOT support either the E61 or the E62. There is no apparent reason for this, I have emailed the contact on the press release and haven’t received a response yet. If this thing can run on the E70, which has landscape AND qwerty, then it should also run just fine on the E62.

@mohammed: Honestly, I don’t really know Yahoo!’s strategy for this case. In my opinion, this application is J2ME-based; so it should run on every devices that support J2ME, including Nokia E61. May be they haven’t fully tested it yet on this device.
Furthermore, I also don’t understand why they limit the distribution to OTA-download only. Why don’t they offer full-download via PC?
@Yahoo!’s team: Anyone is listening to me???

@Rcadden: I fully agree with you. Nokia E61/E62 support J2ME; so in theory, this application should run on those devices too. Let us know when you got response back from their PR guy.

I received my sms with the download link. I do like the new layout better but it seems that in order to use Messenger I must keep the old version on also. Wonder why they left out Messenger?
January 15th, 2007 at 6:44 am
hmm it’s full…can anyone send me the installation file :p
No messenger ? Little reason for me to get this then
I don’t like Java apps they are always so unstable.
January 15th, 2007 at 5:25 pm
@Hola: I agree Java applications tend to consume more RAM and are relatively slow. However, from developers’ point of view, Java might be the best language to support multiple platforms, i.e. Symbian OS, Windows Mobile and Linux. Developing native application for each platform could be more expensive.

@imam007: You can always download Yahoo! Go 2 from http://get.go.yahoo.com/. If, for some reasons, the server said the beta version is full, just register. After a couple of days, they will send SMS with a complete download link.

I even can’t download it. If anyone know how to download it from PC, please tell me at worship.lord@yahoo.com.

@Jonathan: I don’t think they provide a link from the PC. Which phone and browser are you using?
