New DivX Player for Mobile

Finally… the new DivX Player for Mobile has been released. This version is still in a beta version, but…

It is not expired on January 1, 2007. See also my posting, DivX Player for Mobile is Expired?
Most of the bugs that I raised on my posting, DivX or RealPlayer, seem to be fixed already. I need to investigate this further though. I will post the update on this posting later.

WOW, it’s supports for Subtitles.

But, how to turn off the splash screen while opening DivX? Looks like is not available in the Options…

@rulirahm: I don’t think you can turn off the splash screen. At least, I don’t see the option to do that.

If I remember right, there’s a trick to turn off the splash screen but I forget.

I encoded mine at 29.97 fps 352*288 (my new E70) and 384kbps with audio of 22khz / 56kbps stereo.

I’m experiencing sync problems but the video is very smooth. Doesn’t jerk at any time like 3gp with similar quality setting. However the audio sync is a problem :> It’s getting there….

Also if someone has a better (more optimal setting) pls share. I used the above coz it’s the best with 3gp. IMO.

Also the audio is awefully low. SUPER should have an option to make divx audio (MP3) louder but why are the vids encoded in 3GP (AAC) so loud.

I found a way to avoid the splash screen. I opened the file in FExplorer, I still got a 2nd edition phone. But it will probably work with other file explorers to.

@DD: Have you downloaded the latest version? The old version expires on January 1, 2007.

Hi,
This application will probably be one of the determining factors on whether I get an E70 or something else. I really want an E70, if I can be sure of a decent fps on video playback – Hola seems to have had some difficulty with audio sync on his.

Can anyone tell me whether E70 can really support 24+ fps playback on more-or-less fullscreen? It would make my journey into work a whole lot better!

@Mahi: You can use Nokia PC Suite (http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite) to install any applications, including DivX. You can connect your device to your PC via USB or Bluetooth.
