DivX Player for Mobile Is Expired?

New year has come… but it causes a problem with DivX Player for Mobile. Some of you may have noticed that we can no longer run DivX Player for Mobile since new year came (see screenshot below).

I have tried to download the latest DivX Player for Mobile from their web site, but no luck. It seems the developers have not released a new version yet.

Is there workaround for this?

Firstly, I would recommend to use RealPlayer for now. As I said in my earlier posting, DivX Player or RealPlayer?, the current version of DivX Player is not stable enough. This might be another reason not to use DivX for now. Let’s wait until the final version has been released. Just for your information, RealPlayer can play MPEG-4 videos too (read also my other posting, Converting Your Videos to RealPlayer).
Change the date to 2006. This may not be a solution, but DivX Player can still be run if the date is some time in 2006.

To developers of DivX Player for Mobile: Is there any plan to release a new version soon? As you can see from the discussion in this blog, there are a lot of DivX fans.

Compatible devices: S60 2nd, 3rd Edition, Nokia Nseries, Nokia Eseries.

Update (10-Jan-2007): The updated version of DivX Player for Mobile has been released.

@Victor: RealPlayer is actually the default video player for S60 phones. You don’t need to download it. It should already be on your device. Normally, it is inside Media folder (different phone may have different folder though).

thanks again, but i use real player but has a resolution of 176×144, i download new version but is the same thing, now i use real player for 3gp videos, and divx for my movies
i use a sendo x!! yes sendo x, this phone was death since 2005 on march i think but i bought this model in october jeje was funny

Install Divx Player, locate your Divx file with Fexplorer, click on this and the player start.

hi.. i wonder not all mp4 type will play to realplayer..i already covert it all types of mp4 like PSP,Ipod,Mpeg-4 but still dont play..im using xilisoft vonverter and imtoo mp4 converter but it wont work..i\’v already adjust also the bit rate and video size,but it still dont work..im so frustrated anymore..pls teach me how.. coz my divx and smartmovie are expired too..thanks..
