Today, OggPlay team has just released OggPlay for S60 3rd Edition. So now, OggPlay supports most (if not all) S60 phones out there. For you who don’t know OggPlay, it is an audio player for Symbian OS phones that is released as open source software. OggPlay was initially written as a player for Ogg format. However, it supports other audio formats as well, including MP3, AAC, MP4/M4A and WMA. If you are looking for an .ogg player or simply looking for another audio player, download OggPlay and try it.

One of the features that I like from OggPlay is that you can change the skins. There are some skins for S60 phones, but most of them have not been ported to S60 3rd Edition. It seems we have to wait for a while before the authors port their skins. One of my favorite OggPlay’s skins is iPogg. It allows us to have iPod-like user interface for our S60 phones.
Compatible devices: S60 1st, 2nd, 3rd Edition, Nokia Nseries, Nokia Eseries.
Update (09-April-2007): Updated download link.

I actually prefer this over the built in music player of the E61.

@agwe23: In some cases, OggPlay is better than the built-in music player. There are, however, some features that I am missing from OggPlay, e.g. equalizer.

i’m still looking for a music player that recognizes all the tags from itunes (artists, genre, discs, etc etc)

Good news that it works, but yes it lacks some features like beeing
active in “active standby” like the built in one etc. But it think
it’s cool and I don’t have to convert my ogg’s to mp3 just to get them
on the phone.

Good s/ware for N73 but not the same like nokia S60 model ogg can play random ringtone…

“like nokia S60 model ogg can play random ringtone”
Nokia’s fault I believe. On S60 the phone automatically loads the ogg codec, but on S60V3 it won’t do that (platform security restriction?).
There’s a new version of OggPlay available BTW, http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=86146
