Firstly spotted by Techmundo 2.0 a couple of days ago, DivX Player is probably the coolest free video player for S60 phones. For you who don’t know DivX, here is the description from Wikipedia web site:
DivX is a video codec created by DivX, Inc. (formerly DivXNetworks, Inc.), which has become popular due to its ability to compress lengthy video segments into small sizes while maintaining relatively high visual quality. DivX uses lossy MPEG-4 Part 2 compression, where quality is balanced against file size for utility.
I have tried DivX player and I think I would make it as my primary video player for S60 (replacing SmartMovie). I will discuss how to convert videos to DivX in my next posting. Meanwhile, you can download the players and enjoy some cool movie trailers from the link at the end of this posting.

Compatible devices: S60 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Nokia N-Series, Nokia E-Series.
Update (31-Dec-06): It seems the current version of DivX Player for Mobile still has some bugs, for example audio synchronization. Please read my other posting here, DivX Player or RealPlayer? Hope that this bug will be fixed in the next release of DivX Player for Mobile. I will keep this posting updated.
Update (10-Jan-07): The updated version of DivX Player for Mobile has been released. This version is not expired on January 1, 2007 any more.
Update (15-Apr-07): Please continue further discussion about DivX Player on Forum.S60Tips.com.

E61Life has posted a comparison of several feed reader for Nokia E-Series (most of them are available for other S60 phones too). Which one is the winner? I would say Bloglines Mobile. Here are some reasons:
- It is free.
- It supports RSS and Atom protocols (some other readers support RSS only).
- It can import and export OPML files.
- It uses Skweezer to compress web pages for faster loading (read also my post about Skweezer here).
- It doesn’t require additional software on the phone (it uses web browser only).
Since Bloglines is an online service and requires web browser only, synchronization can be done very easily. we can add a new feed from any devices, such as computer at home, and it will be available on our other devices immediately. Furthermore, when we have read a new posting on our mobile phone, it will be marked as “read” on all other devices too.
Using feed reader software may lead to synchronization problem especially if we need to access our feeds from PC. Not all feed reader software are available in PC platforms.

I believe all of you are familiar with Tetris game. It is a computer puzzle game that was invented by Alexey Pazhitnov in 1985. The object of the game is to manipulate random shapes composed of four square blocks so that they create a horizontal line of blocks without gaps. When such a line is created, it disappears and the player receive bonus score.
Tetris is an addictive game. It was one of my favorite games when I was a kid. Now, we can install the clone of Tetris game, called S-Tris, in our S60 phones. Best of all, it is available for free.
S-Tris seems to be the hottest freeware for S60 in the last two days. Many blogs has featured this cool game, starting from E61Life, E61 Blog to AllAboutSymbian. I highly recommend this game too.
