A couple of months ago, I have listed some secret codes on S60 phones to display various useful information. Some of the readers have provided some feedback to me with more secret codes. Here they are:
*#92702689# (*#war0anty#) - Display the life timer information of your S60 phone, i.e. the total time of phone call (in minutes). Some users have asked how to reset this timer; as far as I know the only way to reset it is by flashing the phone.

*#7780# (*#rst0*) - This will soft reset your phone. It is different from *#7370# because all data, like contacts, calendar and notes, are not removed. It will only reset the phone settings, such as profiles, themes and shortcuts. The default lock code is 12345.

There is another key combination which is used to hard reset the phone (similar to #*7370). It is useful in some cases, for example when the phone cannot reboot. The trick is by switching off the phone then press and hold Call key (Green key) + * key + 3 key + power button for a couple of seconds. Note that you have to press and hold the four keys at the same time; otherwise it won’t reset the phone. This key combination doesn’t work on some S60 phones.
Update (12-Aug-06): Thanks to Jukka for the correction. You don’t need keep pressing Call key + * + 3 + Power.

Actually you don’t need to keep pressing power button, just 3+green+star.

@Jukka: Thanks for the correction. I notice that we have to keep pressing them until NOKIA logo appears.

Is there anyone have or know where I can obtain RM-91 Firmware?
Thanks.

Nokia has just released “Nokia Software Updater” that allows us to update our firmware via USB cable. Unfortunately, it is currently available for S60 2nd Edition only. However, I have a feeling that it will come soon to N91 too.
Meanwhile you can contact Nokia Service Center to do reflash your device with newer firmware.

I got a little problem
can any bod help me in that. i put the password in english and it was working fine. I changed the lanague to Arabic now when ever i start fone it is asking to enter password in arabic. there is no option to enter password in english.
can any one tell me how can i reset my phone language to english
September 7th, 2006 at 8:03 am
@Misbah: I don’t have experience in Arabic. However, I have ever used Chinese and Japanese version. Usually I can switch between normal English alphabet to Chinese/Japanese characters by pressing # key.
Alternatively, you can try to reset your phone to the default factory settings. But, you will lose all your data.

January 12th, 2007 at 2:28 pm
@lucneo: Did you forget your SIM’s PIN number? If this is the case, you need to enter PUK (usually your operator gave this number to you when you signed up with them). If you don’t have it, please contact your operator.

I have a Nokia 3250 upgraded firmware to 4.14 and I have done something bad… I took my memory card out and pressed the hangup (red) button instead of the ok button when the screen asked to confirm removing memory card out of my phone and now I cant get my memory card slot to recognise my memory card… please can you help me her as this is getting really annoying… how do I get my memory card to work on my phone?
Thanks
February 7th, 2007 at 9:14 pm
@trueno: Normally what you have done is okay. I did it several times and memory card is still okay. I would recommend formatting the memory card or use PC to format it.

Hello, I’ve got a message on my N3230 “unable to perform bluetooth operation.” I tried the hard and soft reset but still the bluetooth is not working, and the bluetooth device address is not displayed. Is the problem with the bluetooth IC? How will I know if the IC is bad or not or if it was removed from the phone? I’m afraid that if I’ll bring it to a repair shop, this prob might be solved but later on a new cellphone prob will be experienced by me.
pls if anyone know bout this

@nitin: Have you tried using “Call key (Green key) + * key + 3 key + power button” to reset your phone? I have tried using N73 and it doesn’t ask for security code.

hi.. i was wondering if there was some sort of PUK code override? i have 600$ credit on my mobile and very important numbers stored on the sim. it was recently stolen, and when it was returned, would only come up with the “sim card rejected” messagw. i understand WHY this is happening but id like to make it go away :] is that at all possible?
