I have been using Nokia Music Player for quite a while but I never need rewind and fast forward features until recently. A couple of days ago, I was looking for rewind and fast forward menu in the Nokia Music Player, but I couldn’t find them. After reading the help, finally I found how to rewind and fast forward.

There are two ways which you can use:
- Press and hold previous or next button in the main screen. They are the buttons that you use to go to the previous or next track. If you press and hold the previous button, you will rewind the song. Similarly, if you press and hold the next button, you will fast forward the song.
- Press and hold 4 or 6 key to rewind or fast forward the song.

Hi Antony,
I just stumbled across these shortcuts too. Really, really useful. On a different note have you experienced the popping noise when listening using headphones and changing/skipping tracks? I have heard that it is a software problem with the player. Can you confirm this?
Cheers!

I am aware of this problem, so it could be a software problem.

This rew and ffw stuff is nice. Any way to display album art pic from mp3 files? There’s a lot of empty space on the top right for this isn’t it.

I know how to display album art in N91 because there is an option to do that. For other S60 phones, I have been trying to do the same thing, but so far I haven’t succeeded yet…

There is no way to view album art on s60 3rd edition devices except music phones like N91 and 3250. Of course the big blank part on the right of the music application interface is designed to add some features like IDTAG infos and album arts. I think users should wait for an update but i dont think an update will be published because we will see it on the upcoming devices.

That’s awesome Antony, cheers for those shortcut keys, I didn’t know about them. Do we know of any others for the music players.
I listen to either long dance mix sets, usually between 1 and 2 hours. Or podcasts, which are long as well. So I fast forward and rewind constantly, this is a huge help.

Here’s a weird thing that happens to me sometimes - When I load up a music file that’s over an hour long, if I fast-forward to 60:00 or further, it jumps back. I haven’t pin-pointed exactly when this happens, but it has done this on both my E61 and E70, but only when I’m using the Nokia Podcasting App, so that could be the cause of the problem.
For instance, I load up a podcast, and skip to 1h 05m time, it’ll jump to like 0h 08m. It’s weird. I need to explore it further.
Anyone else had this problem?

[…] I’m only listening to one podcast so far so I don’t know yet if this is just a novelty. One annoyance is that the fast forward/rewind functions aren’t obvious - you should hold down the previous and next keys. See: Rewind and Fast Forward in Nokia Music Player. […]
