Some of you probably already know this tip. Do you know that you can select menu in the main menu of S60 user interface using 0 .. 9 keys, instead of arrow keys. See the screenshot below for an example. Here you can launch Messaging application by pressing 1 key, launching Calendar application by pressing 2 key, open Tools folder by pressing # key, etc.

This is a very useful shortcut - if only it worked properly on the E61!
As the E61 has 3 rows of 4 icons (rather than the usual 4 rows of 3 icons as above), the key mappings need to be different. It looks like the keyboard designer allowed for this as the ‘blue keys’ are also in 4 rows of 3:
1 2 3 *
4 5 6 #
7 8 9 0
however the mapping is as follows:
1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8
9 * 0 #
In other words, only the first 3 keys maintain the visual relationship between keyboard and screen. A great feature that is currently unusable on the E61.
